MDC-T agents denied access to food in Hurungwe

Movement for Democratic Change led by Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai agents at Dicks farm are reportedly denied access to nearby shops to buy food by war veterans.

The two, Clara Mutashu and Michael Dzikamunhenga were deployed as party election agents ahead of the tomorrow harmonized polls.

They are representing their party in Hurungwe central constituency that covers Karoi town, resettlement farms as well as communal farms. It has 91 polling stations.

According to MDC-T provincial spokesperson Big Haurobi the two are forced to be within the polling station and can not buy food at nearby shops besides the fact that they have money to buy food.

‘’We have two of our agents deployed at Dicks farm polling station but are being denied the chance to buy food at nearby shops by resettled farmers. It is unfortunate that they are being forced to go for election o empty stomach due to some war veterans who see it fit that they must buy food regardless of the fact that they have money’’ said Haurobi.

Dicks farm is one of the politically volatile rural wards in Hurungwe central where MDC-T will be represented by Regis Mugwinyi at ward level.

Simbarashe Takawira of MDC-T will face Zanu PF’s Godfrey Beremauro in the election set to end coalition government formed in 2009 following a disputed poll that Tsvangirai has won but failed to garner enough votes as an outright winner.
