Long queues were spotted at large city hall polling station, Mantshalini mobile voting centre in Tshabalala. The Zimbabwean News crew also witnessed long queues at Mahlebezulu primary school. A presiding officer at the school refused to reveal the number of people who had voted as well as turned away since the opening of the polling station this morning. He referred all questions to the provincial command centre. Some representatives of political parties expressed confidence that the people would come in their numbers to vote.
“It has been very cold this morning and I think a lot of people will come to vote as the day progresses and the weather clears. Some of voters especially women are still doing their chores and they will definitely came in their numbers and vote,” said Mandla Sibanda the MDC–T Bulawayo provincial spokesperson.
