Voting starts slowly in Mash West

Voting started slowly around Mashonaland West province with few people turning up to vote within the first three hours here.

At the Salvation Army polling station in Chikangwe about 100 people had cast votes by 9.30am.

At other centres, a few people, mostly youths, were turning up to cast their votes.

MDC-T provincial spokesperson, Big Haurobi said: ‘’People know who they will vote for but we disturbed they are coming in small numbers’’ said Haurobi.

In Chegutu, the Zanu PF Provincial Chairman, John Mafa, cast his vote at Katawa polling station in Ward 26 and was number 32 out of nearly 60 early voters.

‘’People are coming to vote and its peaceful’’ said Mafa in a telephone interview.
