Political violence erupts in Insiza

A traditional leader in Susaphansi area in Insiza has been admitted at Filabusi hospital after his homestead was torched today in a suspected political violence related to the just ended elections.

Addressing a press conference in Bulawayo, Jenni Williams of Women of Zimbabwe Arise, representing Civil Society, said details of the arson were still scant but members of civil society in Gwanda had confirmed the development. It could also not be established to which party the traditional leader belonged.

Andrew Langa of Zanu (PF) is reported to have retained the seat.
