
However, Dube told The Zimbabwean this week that there was no substance to the rumour, as the defender still had a running contract with Chipangano.
“All our players are back at training, including Chipeta. His contract runs until the end of December this year,” said the former Chipangano captain.
“All the transfer talk is mere speculation. There is no way he can leave at this moment. We will hold on to him because he is one of our most important players. We want to build our team around him.”
Dube also promised to use most of the youthful players that came through after the club held trials last year, as Hwange seeks to challenge for honours in the Castle Lager PSL in the forthcoming season.
“Last season, we spent most the time fighting relegation, but things will change this season. We will strong preparation and have kept most of the players we had last season, who have obviously gained some experience.”
