
Chamisa, as a cabinet minister in the government of national unity promoted a computer technology drive, and the request indicated that his services were missed.

This year, the budget allocation for the ICT ministry provides for only 166 laptops – not enough for all legislators. “I am humbled by the recognition given by the country’s lawmakers for the contributions I made as minister in the GNU. This was a clear reflection of the legislators’ confidence in me,” Chamisa told The Zimbabwean in an exclusive interview.
Chamisa said the request for laptops for MPs was reasonable, since information technology was an invaluable tool in modern life.
