Frederick Shava is now our envoy to China, which is his punishment for the Willowvale mischief – if you can call having a team of bodyguards, duty free imports and glitzy dinners with world leaders punishment.
Masimirembwa is happily collecting a salary at CMED after Mugabe recently rewarded him with that parastatal’s top post, only a few moons after calling him a swindler of foreign investors. Without much of an official enquiry, Mugabe, in journalism parlance, ran a back page retraction in very small print, when he later said the foreign investor’s story did not quite add up.
Mliswa makes a living from introducing businesspeople to his uncle – the Gamatox man. In law books, there is a name for this sort of enterprise. It is called extortion. The Chitungwiza residents who were conned out of their life savings by land barons – some of them Zanu (PF) members – still face the prospect of homelessness, as the spectre of the demolition crew still hangs in the air.
Naming names will not help Zimbabwe. Naming ministerial names will certainly not help Kudzayi’s bid to continue breathing – for it is inside prison where men facing trumped charges up are found swaying from the rafters. It is often said we learn more from history than from school.

Power corruption and absolute power corrupts absolutely so absolutely that those exercising it become so blind they destroy themselves with it. In the past Zimbabweans used to look at the ruling elite with envy, now one cannot help but mock at their assumed airs.
Look at Shamuyarira he died a pauper and totally disillusioned man. He had spent decades of his life building this monster called Zanu PF only for it to eat him alive. As if suddenly aware of it’s own wrongdoing the party had his house painted to hide the years of neglect, rot and decay and, as if to rub it in, declared him a national hero!
History will remember Shamuyarira as one of those whose greed and selfishness turn the country full of hope in 1980 into a hell-on-earth in 34 years. In life, he had first-hand experience of what life is really, really like in this Zanu PF hell! He is not the only one, poverty has reached every corner of the Zimbabwe society; poverty does not care one’s standing in the ruling Zanu PF party even party grandees like Shamuyarira have failed to keep it at bay! What good is having absolute power if one does not have the very bare necessities of life like clean running water and food!
Even Mugabe is his Blue Roof mansion must be worried. His columned hall mansion with its scented rooms is completely surrounded by rot and decay and grinding poverty. His mansion is nothing but an oasis in the middle of the desert completely surrounded by sand domes a mile high; it is just a question of time before the sand flood in and bury him and everything he stood for!
He gave his daughter Mapfeni Farm in Mazowe but must know that she will never grow old on that farm. She will never hold on to all the looted wealth he gave her; the contrast with the poverty of the ordinary people is to glaring not to be noticed.
Couldn’t be written any better. Reading this post reminds me of my old room mate! He always kept talking about this. I will forward this article to him. Pretty sure he will have a good read. Thanks for sharing!
