Organisers of the event said this week the nominations for awards would close on August 10. Categories include business, community, the arts, culture and sports and special category.
Event Chairman, Conrad Mwanza, said the awards were intended to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements of outstanding Zimbabweans in South Africa, which has the highest number of Zimbabweans living in the Diaspora.
“These awards celebrate diversity and multiculturalism, and provide a unique and prestigious celebration of the African as a whole and those Zimbabweans who have followed their dreams and overcome hardship to achieve success.
“Through identifying those who exemplify the very best in the community, we acknowledge their positive contributions, honour them and advance the image and outlook of our Zimbabwean community in South Africa,” he said.
To nominate, people have to fill in the form on the website : zimbabweachieversawards.co.za, or SMS NOMINATE, followed by a space and the name of the person they are nominating and something about them to 33000.
