Call for education awards entries

The Saville Foundation in partnership with Teach a Man to Fish is calling for entries for the Pan-African Awards for Entrepreneurship in Education.

Launched in 2007 the awards reward organisations that contribute to Africa’s long-term growth and development through an entrepreneurial approach to education and training.

Winners of the competition will walk away with a first prize of $10,000, while the runners up with receive $5,000. Winning organisations will benefit from business guidance, media publicity, enhanced sponsorship and donation opportunities.

The competition seeks to identify those that have risen to meet the tremendous challenges of Entrepreneurship Education in Africa, to highlight their models, and to reward their achievements. Entrepreneurship in education has the potential to be a driving force for the positive social transformation and the awards offer a platform for organisations to inspire each other and share what works.

The competition is open to all organisations working in primary, secondary and tertiary education, including those in the non- formal and adult education.

Past winners include a television implemented in Tanzania, an embroidery training programme in Madagascar and a bicycle recycling enterprise in Lesotho. Any project that combats poverty in an innovative, sustainable, and effective way is eligible.
