“I went to Denmark with Mangwana of Zanu (PF) for the premiering of a film on democrats, as the two of us negotiated Zimbabwe’s new constitution,” Mwonzora told The Zimbabwean following some media reports that he had gone begging for funding for his party.
The film which came second in the world at the international Film Festival was filmed in Denmark on November 16.
Mwonzora was quick to point out that there was nothing wrong for him to fund-raise for the party. “I took the opportunity to meet party supporters, activists and officials in the Diaspora. People out there are very hopeful and motivated by the manner in which our recent elective congress was conducted,” said Mwonzora, indicating that there was overwhelming support and faith that the elected leadership would deliver.
He said the Diaspora was encouraged by the democratic processes and peaceful nature of the congress.
Mangwana could not be reached for comment as his number went on ringing for days without being answered.
