The former Highlanders player, who starred for Zimbabwe at the African Nations Championships in South Africa earlier this year, said this week was still searching for an ABSA Premiership club to join, following his release by Mpumalanga Black Aces.
"I did not pen any deal with Witbank Spurs and all that rumour is based on a lie," said Moyo. "I did train with them to remain fit, but I still believe it is too early for me to play in the lower division – be it here at home or in South Africa. I still have a lot to offer in the topflight league and I am still looking for a club interested in my services. I have the talent and the skill. I am a hard worker and can fit in any team in the SA premiership."
Moyo said the rumour could have been fuelled by his brief training stint with the Mpumalanga-based Spurs. "I was only keeping myself fit and busy with Spurs because I wanted to be ready should any bigger club want to secure my services. A player can train with any team while they search for a base and that depends on the understanding between them."
Moyo’s denial further plunges the saga into more confusion, as Spurs spokesman George Khumalo was last week quoted in the media saying they were now awaiting for a work permit for the midfielder.
"He has been training with us for two months and impressed. We are just waiting for his work permit for him to start playing," said Khumalo then, but efforts to get further comments from him this were fruitless.
