Kapini, who joined Usuthu in 2011 and now holds South African permanent residency, fell out of employment recently, when he was released with six months still remaining on his contract.
"It is true I am no longer an Amazulu player but there is something coming up soon. Just watch the space. God is for us all,” said Kapini. “There is one PSL and one First Division club who are already after my services. I am grateful for the support I have been getting from various supporters and friends since I became a professional player."
The 30-year-old goal-minder was handed his clearance after Amazulu signed fellow Zimbabwean goalkeeper, Energy Murambadoro, from Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Murambadoro was loaned out to Usuthu for the rest of the season, as the Durbanites try to steer themselves out of relegation.
"It is a five-month loan with an option of a further year. He is heading off to Durban this week," said Murambadoro's manager, Benjamin Nkhatho.
AmaZulu General Manager, Peter O'Connor, had high hopes for Murambadoro earlier in the week. "Hopefully, Murambadoro will all be a good addition that will strengthen the squad ahead of our fight to rescue our league form and position. We've done a mutual settlement with Tapuwa Kapini and he'll be free to join any other club of his choice," said O'Connor.
Murambadoro enjoyed some game time at the Amazayoni this season, with 12 starts to his name already in all competitions.
