Mliswa is accused of contravening Section 113 f the Criminal Law (Codification and Reform) Act.
It is the state’s case that Mliswa stole the eight rifles from Summerhill farm in Mhangura sometime in 2007.
By then, the farm was owned by one Myles Walter Hall.
Mliswa allegedly hid the firearms in a trench at his disused fowl run at Spring Farm.
Yesterday, the Investigating Officer in the case, Detective Assistant Inspector Masimba Mputa, had opposed bail on the grounds that Mliswa would interfere with investigations.
Mliswa’a lawyer, Musindo Hungwe, confirmed the latest development to The Zimbabwean saying Mliswa would be back in court on February 18 when the trial date would be set.
“Our client has been granted $200 bail. He was ordered to surrender his passport as well as to stay at his Borrowdale house. He was also ordered to stay away from his farm and the court did not order any reporting conditions,” said Hungwe.
