Major coup for tourist industry

EDITOR - The Pan Africa Media Research Organisation (PAMRO) held its 16th media research conferencein August this year in Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania.

The theme was Africa rising: The role of audience media research in emerging markets.

The conference is not just a regional event, it attracts delegates from around the globe. I was delighted to discover that Zimbabwe was represented by an old media colleague Major Tikiwa. More to the point despite prevailing economic difficulties he was able to give a very encouraging report for and on behalf of his country’s advertising industry.

However the icing on the cake was the awarding of the next PAMRO conference for 2016 to Zimbabwe. A persuasive presentation prepared by Zimbabwean public relations icon Jill Day, in company with Tikiwa, secured the venue for Zimbabwe. From August 21-24, 2016 the world’s media moguls will be able to savour the magnificent Victoria Falls and the luxury of the Elephant Hills Hotel.
The Zimbabwe Advertising Research Foundation (ZARF) is giving its full support in ensuring the conference will be memorable for all the right reasons.

This is a major coup for tourism in Zimbabwe. Any interested sponsors please contact the Chief Executive Officer ZARF in Harare Zimbabwe, Colin Moxham. – MIKE ROOK, Surrey UK
