Thousands flock to ZIFF

HARARE - A record 11,000 people visited the Libertie cinema complex in Avondale, to enjoy some of the diverse films on offer during the ninth annual Zimbabwe International Film Festival. Most other festival venues also experienced record attendance pushing the total viewing figures up to 20,000 p

“We are proud that for the ninth consecutive time, despite extra challenges, we demonstrated extraordinary resilience and determination and proved again that it is possible to make things work,” said executive director, Farai Mpfunya.
Over 100 films from 50 different countries were shown during the 10 day festival whilst over 20 international film makers descended on Zimbabwe to share ideas on building a sustainable film industry. – KJW
