Ncube had an altercation with some youths whom he met at a beerhall. “They were led by Belief Manhuru and Misheck Muchena who are notorious for violence in our area. They threatened me with unspecified action saying I should not boast about my victory. That evening at around 8 pm my wife saw that our house was on fire and she raised the alarm. Other villagers came to help but it was too late as the whole house was now engulfed in flames,” said a devastated Ncube last week.
The police arrived at the scene on October 7 – more than a week after Ncube reported the incident. They came in a Defender registered ZRP 643D.They were Officer In Charge Munhungei, Inspector Chiota and Constable Bungwe. – Own correspondent
