Rediscover your Passion for Travel

"The falls area is Zimbabwe's most sophisticated tourist destination, with world-class hotels, elegant lodges, good B&Bs, excellent camp sites, some thrilling game viewing and is the epicentre of Southern Africa's adventure sports. The Rand, Pound, Euro or US Dollar will buy more fun and luxury

there than anywhere else in Africa and the people are among the friendliest on the continent.” – Don Pinnock in Getaway Magazine, August 2005.
However one might look at it, the Falls has been and always will be Zimbabwe’s premier tourism destination. And the employment and publicity it creates for its people cannot be overlooked. This December many mouths will be fed as a result of the teeming hotels and lodges in the Falls and therefore we advocate the Falls as a must-see destination. For those wanting to see this breathtaking attraction, Go magazine, South Africa’s newest travel and outdoor glossy, answered some pertinent questions in their August 2006 issue:
When should I go? When the Zambezi is in flood (usually from April to June), you really experience the power of this natural wonder
From which side should I view it? When the Zambezi is low, the Zambian side is very low and it makes sense to… see the falls in Zimbabwe
How much does it cost? Entrance to the Victoria Falls National Park in Zimbabwe costs R100 for adults and R50 for children.
What time of the day is best? Get up early and behold the waterfall in the fresh morning air and pop in again at sunset to view it in a different light.
Venues4Africa.com has put together a special for Zimbabweans at the Stanley and Livingstone. Just 15-minutes away from the magnificent Victoria Falls, The Stanley and Livingstone is ideal for guests seeking a luxurious and tranquil environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the Victoria Falls town. Situated on the Nakavango Estate, a 6 000-acre private reserve, this small luxury hotel was refurbished in July 2003, and now boasts 16 tastefully decorated suites.
Activities available on the Nakavango Estate include day and night game-drives, game walks around the estate (a bird lover’s paradise) and for our fishing enthusiasts, our dam is continually stocked with Nileoticus bream, bass and catfish.

Six months and 29 committed participants later, and the GotoVictoriaFalls.com campaign, launched in May this year at South Africa’s Tourism Indaba, is growing in leaps and bounds.
The joining together, initial focus and success of the original 14 key participants and various other tourism operators in Zimbabwe’s resort town of Victoria Falls, earlier this year, has worked extremely well in promoting the destination with reports of interest levels in the area really starting to swing upwards. This is especially attributed to queries and business coming in from new markets like Japan as well as the traditional key markets like the UK and USA.
This phenomenal success story has now resulted in 15 additional participants joining the campaign to assist in the efforts of actively and accurately promoting the destination.
Endorsed and supported by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority, the aim of the campaign is to overcome negative perceptions and put Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe, back on the map as the premier and most desired destination in this competitive region.
With 2006 soon coming to a close, the Victoria Falls region will be proudly hailing its third successive year of renewed interest and growth. Says spokesperson Ross Kennedy, “This is what it’s all about – regaining vibrancy and maintaining it. We are fortunate enough to have one of the most astonishing natural-world and adventure destinations on the planet and with the drive and dedication of all the GotoVictoriaFalls.com campaign participants and the growing interest from tourists the world over, Victoria Falls is coming back with a “thunderous” bang!”
The GotoVictoriaFalls.com team have just returned from flying the flag of Zimbabwe’s premiere tourist destination at London’s World Travel Market. Decked in colourful shirts, with quality handouts, the team reported an amazing resurgence of interest from the trade.
