Nkomo gets tough on MPs(01-02-07)

HARARE - The Speaker of Parliament, John Nkomo, has said he will in this session summon all government ministers who have not been coming to Parliament to answer questions from backbenchers.
Several legislators have in the past complained that their questions were not being answered and continue

d to be deferred from one sitting to another because of the absence of the responsible ministers.
The issue of ministers failing to turn up to answer questions from backbenchers has been contentious for a long time, prompting some backbenchers to say the ministers have become arrogant because they have stayed in power for too long.
