Matibiri to succeed Chihuri?
HARARE - Four Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) deputy commissioners are reportedly jostling for the post of Police Commissioner Augustine Chihuri, who is battling with unknown illness, CAJ News can reveal.
Chihuri has been in and out of the country on many occasions

due to illness while
Deputy Commissioner Godwin Matanga acts in his stead. Matanga is reported to have made numerous blunders during his stint at the helm.
Other deputy commissioners reportedly eyeing Chihuri’s post include President Mugabe’s close relative Innocent Matibiri, Barbara Mandizha and Levy Sibanda.
“Matibiri is believed to succeed Chihuri by virtue of being PMugabe’s relative. I remember when he graduated from Morris depot he was a mere constable but he successfully jumped these other positions in the police hierarchy to become an inspector, chief superintendent and finally the deputy commissioner. With such fast-tracking kind of promotion, I am not surprised if he becomes the next police commissioner,” said one senior police officer. – John Makura, CAJ News
