Civil servants punished

HARARE
The Zanu (PF) government has tightened its screws on civil servants found reading copies of The Zimbabwean newspaper at workplace, insisting that they are anti-Mugabe "sellouts".
Several civil servants, who spoke to CAJ News Agency during a snap survey, said reading a copy of The Zimbab

wean was a punishable offence, deserving dismissal or suspension from work.
“Some of us cannot read the state newspapers because they don’t tell the truth real issues happening in the country except propaganda. I don’t understand as to how are we going to live in this country called Zimbabwe because we have no freedom of choice, no right to read the newspaper of our choice,” said Joseph Makazhe at African Arise shop.
“Mugabe is denying citizens their right to access to information. This means the forthcoming presidential election will not be free and fair,” he said. – CAJ News
