ZRP promises deadly violence

HARARE - Police being sent to safeguard troublesome ghettos in Harare will deal robustly with any violence and use deadly violence if necessary, a top police spokesman vowed on Monday.

ld thwart potential troublemakers bent on defying the ban on rallies and demonstrations.
“Those banning orders are still in force,” Bvudzijena told a news briefing. “There are MDC people threatening police officers. We will not be threatened. We have a duty to ensure that everyone is able to go about their daily activities unhindered.”
The opposition has vowed to make the country ungovernable until President Mugabe abandons his plan to extend his mandate illegally by another two years.
