anonymity said, “They will all be released soon,
including those still in remand following a decision
at the top to try and create conditions for dialogue
with the opposition.”
Other MDC members that were released on Thursday
include Zebediah Juwaba, Brighton Matimba, Barnabus
Ndira, Enock Mukudu and Nyasha Chikombe. There are
still 20 others, that include MP for Glen View, Paul
Madzore still in custody but which the source say are
likely to be freed when they appear in court on
Monday.
The Zanu (PF) regime is hoping to drag a cowed down
opposition to the dialogue table for an easy success
of its plans to either pacify or absorb it in a manner
reminscent of the silencing and total destruction of
ZAPU in 1987.
A systematic wave of repression and state-sponsored
terrorism against the opposition has featured over the
past three months, and insiders say Mugabe planned
this to intimidate the main opposition, MDC before
calling them for dialogue.
