HEROES DAY- Whither Zimbabwe (10-08-07)

This week Zimbabwe remembers and honours sons and daughters of the soil who made valiant sacrifices for freedom.
As we celebrate the courage of these gallant fighters we need to self introspect as a nation whether we have managed to keep the sprit of the liberation and subsequent independnce aliv

e.

The current ZANU P.F Regime has negated on the fundamental principles and objectives that drove many to seriously engagge the Smith regime in the batle front .Mugabe ,please can you tell us what has happpened to the ducation ,health and housing for all by the year 2000.?

The gallant sons and daughters fought for freedom ,independence and liberty ,but today all is lost for we cannot meet at prayer meetings ,political rallies and student gatherings without inviting the full wrath of an overzealous police force and Green bombers.

It is crystal clear that Robert Mugabe and ZANU P.F never had the the people at heart but was simply using the masses for selfish ,personal ambitions. The very people that kept th spirit of the struggle alive by providing food and other material resources have been subjected to severe poverty and destitution.Rural areas remain marginalised and undeveloped .The urban folk has been relegated to paupers and beggers.Surely the comrades that lost thier lives should be turning in their graves upon realising how the country has been ruined. With inflation hovering above 10000,no basic goods in the shops education commercialised , we dont need a sky rocket scientist ton tell us that Mugabe has failed us.

Many within the ranks and file of comrades during the liberation struggle sacrificed their lives and took time to fight for the fundamental right to education amongst others .they were hoping that education would be made affordable and accessible to all and sundry in a liberated Zimbabwe. But where do we stand today?.Compare the 37% budgetary allocation to education in 1979 tand the less than 10% allocation in 2006.With over 36% of the current tertiary students uncertain whether they will finish off their studies due to the ever increasing tertiary fees you really wonder if the current regime has ever been srious on matters of education.

The late Hero , Josiah Tongogara would say that “we are fighting a system and not any personality or race” ,we shall continue to fight this unjust system till we achieve total economic ,social and political liberation

Surely Mugabe has reneged on his pre and post independence promises and pledges and its time for him to leave.
