Schools threaten closure

HARARE

“What do you expect us to feed the children?” asked a headmaster of a prominent boarding school, requesting anonymity. “Where am I expected to get 500 loaves of brea

d daily to feed the students? We have no choice but to shut down if the situation doesn’t improve.”
Private schools have started charging school fees in forex. A Harare primary school wants US$90 per kid to import food.
Headmasters said schools were facing formidable challenges in the forthcoming term. Everything seems to have ground to a halt.
