‘amaBooks launch website

The website has been designed in the form of a book, which browsers can view by turning pages, by using bookmarks or by moving to a particular page number. The site gives information about the 16 books publi

shed since ‘amaBooks started, including the Short Writings from Bulawayo series, books by John Eppel and other award-winning books such as Deon Marcus’s Sonatas and Wim Boswinkel’s Erina. Information is also given about 47 writers, together with samples of their writing.
The website will be launched at the National Gallery on September 19 prior to a talk on ‘The African Writer: Which Role Now?’ by academic and writer of poetry and prose Veronique Tadjo from Cote D’Ivoire, who holds a doctorate from the Sorbonne, Paris, in African American literature and civilization and is presently based at Witwatersrand University in Johannesburg.
Other participants at the Festival include Welsh writer and performer Lloyd Robson, performance poet Joelle Taylor from London, John Eppel from Bulawayo and Julius Chingono from Harare.
