The Young Africa Arts Festival (YAAF) was held last weekend at the Young Africa Skills Centre here, with the theme "Celebrate life, cherish your journey".
Top musicians Cephas Mashakada, Mechanic Manyeruke, Hosiah Chipanga, Mafriq, Thornhill brothers, Cindy and others wowed the

crowds.
Road shows were conducted in Chitungwiza and Epworth to advertise the festival to the community as well as inform the artists to register for competitions.
Last year’s winners have been enrolled into the BOCAPA programme, run by The Book Café. A number have been groomed and are now ready to record their first albums and do live shows.
The festivals have been organized since the start in 2001 and have grown be to well-known crowd pullers, greatly appreciated by the Chitungwiza community as it offers them a platform to showcase their talents and aim for a professional level.
In addition, it offers high quality entertainment to a big audience who in general do not have access to such events.
