Moz doubles electricity supplies

Ben Rafemoyo, the Chief Executive Officer of the economically crippled Zimbabwe Electricity Supply Authority (ZESA) has confirmed that the Mozambique last week doubled its supply of electricity to Zimbabwe.
Mozambique's package comes at a time when other regional electricity power

utilities were fed up with Zimbabwe’s poor payment and clearance of the debt.
Electricity giant companies such as Eskom of South Africa were threatening to cut electricity supplies to Harare following massive failures by Zimbabwe to settle some of its arrears.
Hydroelctrica de Cahora Bassa is now supplying Zimbabwe with 300 megawatts daily, an increment from a mere 150megawatts.
Over five million Zimbabweans are reportedly using paraffin and wood for cooking as the electricity power supplies from ZESA were no longer reliable.
Companies with foreign currency are using the diesel power generators as a source of electrical power supply in the face of economic meltdown caused by Zanu (PF) – CAJ News
