We believe in Save Zim campaign – MDC

HARARE
The opposition MDC has reiterated its full support for the Save Zimbabwe campaign which stress on united efforts in confronting Zimbabwe's current crisis.
Speaking exclusively to The Zimbabwean, Movement for Democratic Change's International Political Liaison Officer, Nobizitha Mlilo

stressed that only a united effort was vital in confronting Mugabe’s dictatorship hence need for all pro-democracy movements to intensify efforts.
“As the MDC we are still pushing for a united front in dismantling Mugabe’s hegemony and hold on power. Divisions at this time are unnecessary as they bring the liberation efforts back, but a need for a united effort remains importance to the MDC that is why we are supporting the Save Zimbabwe Campaign initiative,” said Mlilo.
Mlilo’s comments come a few weeks after the National Chairman of the MDC, Lovemore Moyock, stressed that the party led by veteran trade unionist, Morgan Tsvangirai, still believed that those under the leadership of Arthur Mutambara would come together and form a formidable force.
“Though the Mutambara faction have said that they will go alone on the forthcoming elections our stance remain consistence that a united front is vital and that is why up to this point have not responded on the statement made by Mutambara as we still believe unity is still important,” said Moyo.
Well placed sources within the MDC have confirmed that efforts to resuscitate unity between rival factions are underway and that such a move is greatly worrying the ruling Zanu (PF).
Both factions of the MDC have confirmed that they will not contest in the coming polls unless the necessary conditions for free and fair elections are in place. – Trust Matsilele
