YAAF follows in HIFA’s footsteps

More than 8000 youths celebrated life at the recent Young Africa Arts Festival as they showcased their talents and enjoyed performances by an impressive line-up of prominent and upcoming artists. Events included a selection of films from the Zimbabwe International Film Festival, wo


rkshops on stress management (by Art of Living), HIV/ Aids (by Newstart), and short filmmaking and dream analysis which inspired many to identify with their dreams, plan their journey of life and become conscious of their assets to make choices.
Workshops in Brazilian fight dance, mbira, card making, bead making and acrobatics made participants explore and improve their talents.
Upcoming artists competed in music, dance, drama and literature and entertained the crowd with enthusiastic performances. The winners in music and literature secured professional assistance from The Book Café. They included Hweva Arts, G-Patricks, Infil for real, Upclose, Lank-D, True to Type, Roflex, Haulume, Invisible and Rosemary Moyo.
YAAF has been dubbed a baby to the giant Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA).
