According to MDC chairperson for Cheche, Manicaland, Pishai Muchauraya, the police at Checheche police post later screened the 15 and were left with six after releasing nine whom they said had no case to answer. “What is worrying us is that we cannot trace the whereabouts of the six after they were arrested and screened,” said Muchauraya. The missing six are Joel Mukondo, Chris Mkwazhi, Alone Chiunye, Dennis Gatura and Mr Mafawane. He said a chief superintendent Mujaho of the police law and order at Chipinge police station was supposed to have handled the matter but had informed him the six were not in Chipinge. “We have also tried to check with the police at Mutare Central but they too say are not aware of the whereabouts of the MDC members.” A police officer at Chipinge police station that spoke to CAJ News on Tuesday afternoon said he was unaware of the arrests referring question to chief superintendent Mujaho who was said to be out of his office. As the country gears for the 2008 general actions, lawlessness is worsening in Zimbabwe with dozens political analysts throughout the world predicting that there would not be free and fair elections in Zimbabwe-CAJ News.Post published in: News
