A recent visit by The Zimbabwean found ruling party officials working with the chief on a programme being coordinated by minister without portfolio, Elliot Manyika, who is also the MP for Bindura.
“They have been going around the whole area announcing the programme of ox-drawn ploughs saying everyone is supposed to register with the chief . All those who are not registered as members of the party are forced to buy cards and become members before joining the programme,” said a villager.
Groups of Zanu (PF) supporters have been deployed in the Musana Area and are visiting all the villages weeding out MDC supporters who are either forced to denounce the party, or defect to Zanu (PF).
When contacted for comment, Manyika said, “I go to the constituencies to meet people and we are distributing the agricultural equipment but we are giving to all Zimbabweans not only Zanu (PF) officials.” – Own correspondent
