The National Constitutional Assembly has lashed out at Zimbabwe's two political rival parties and the SADC mediators over the agreements on the ongoing political mediations.

The attacks by NCA come after MDC openly admitted that it had agreed to the constitution as it had participated in its making.

The draft constitution will also be used in the forthcoming elections which NCA says the constitution makes it a political document and not a national one.

In a statement the NCA’s National Spokesperson Madock Chivasa says any leadership that will come out of the next year elections will not be accepted by the general populace and the partners of the organization.

According to some reports it is alleged the draft constitutional bill was produced by two MDC secretary generals, Welshman Ncube and Tendai Biti and ZANU PF’s Patrick Chinamasa without any input from the civic society.

In its press statement released on Friday the NCA reiterated that people of Zimbabwe would never be hoodwinked by machinations of politicians but would continue to demand their democratic right.

The NCA remain committed to a constitutional making process were all citizens can freely participate.

The NCA and the entire Zimbabwean populace will not agree on any constitution imposed on them by political parties whose only interest is to obtain political power, said a statement by spokesperson Madock Chivasa.

The NCA also castigated President Thabo Mbeki for mediating in illegal means of the constitutional making processes.

As the NCA we believe that Zimbabwe is bigger than MDC and ZANU PF and we are of the opinion that the current crisis is beyond the political impasse between these two political formations.

We believe that we cannot entrust the future of our nation to Zanu Pf and MDC. The NCA is aware of the dangers of trusting politicians to secretly decide on issues that affect the nation.

We ask President Mbeki not to preside of illegitimate means of the constitutional making processes, added Chivasa
