Racial claims return in sport selection

HARARE -A row has broken out about the make-up of the cricket team chosen to play in the South Africa Composite XI, starting on Thursday, according to Cricinfo.

The website’s sources say hardliners in Zimbabwe cricket, blamed for the devastating rebellion by 15 senior white players four years ago, are at it again – and fear that the issues are again racial.

The latest row stems from the inclusion of batsman Sean Williams in the Paarl-bound side.  This, and the return of veteran spinner Ray Price, have irked some officials, who have accused selectors of choosing too many white players.
