SADC Flops at AFCON

JOHANNESBURG - THE four Southern African Development Community (SADC)
representatives at the on-going Africa Cup of Nations' hopes have been a big
flop except for Angola and northern neighbours Zambia who tasted victories
to date.

South Africa, who drew 1-1 in their opening first match with Angola lost

dismally to Tunisia on Sunday when Bafana Bafana were massacred 3-0 whilst

Namibia narrowly lost 0-1 to Senegal.Earlier on, Namibia had lost heavily to Morroco 5-1 making the Brave

Warriors the earliest southern African  nation to exit from the elite Africa

Cup of Nations before the second round. As that was not enough for SADC regional representatives, South Africa, who spoke too much about winning the title even before they reached Ghana were

held to a 1-1 draw by Angola before being massacred 3-0 by Tunisia in Tamale

on Sunday. The defeat in the hands of Tunisia made South Africa another strongest

contenders for the early nations to leave the pride Africa soccer showcase. The only hopefuls for the southern African grouping are favourites Angola

and Zambia, whose chances appear not completely dashed out.Angola have arleady qualified whilst Zambia needs an outright victory against Egypt in order to move to the next stage of the tournamentSouth Africa and Namibia need miracles to happen of which their chances are

very minimal if not next to zero
