Speaking at a press briefing in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Bush said free and fair elections in Zimbabwe were in the interests of the people of the troubled southern African country.
“There’s no doubt the people of Zimbabwe deserve a government that serves their interest and recognizes their basic human rights and holds free and fair elections,” said Bush at the press briefing he held with Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete.
Bush said Mugabe had presided over food shortages, staggering inflation and harsh repression adding that he was looking forward to a time when the people of Zimbabwe would regain their freedom. – ZimOnline
