All Is Set For MDC Rally

All is set for the MDC presidential star rally in Bulawayo on Saturday as the party continues its nationwide campaign ahead of the watershed 29 March elections.

President Morgan Tsvangirai and all the national executive members will be in Bulawayo on Saturday to address the usual bumper crowd at White City Stadium in the City of Kings.

President Tsvangirai and Vice President Hon Thokozani are expected to be among the key speakers at the rally, where the people of Bulawayo will have a chance to interact with the party leadership.

The MDC President, who two months ago went to Matabeleland to assess for himself the perennial water problems and the humanitarian crisis facing this region, is expected to unveil the MDC’s position on marginalised areas and the general crisis facing the country.

Since the start of the election campaign in February, President Tsvangirai has been addressing thousands of party supporters across the country with about 60 000 people attending the colourful launch of the MDC campaign at Sakubva Stadium in Mutare, Manicaland province.

Thousands of MDC supporters have attended MDC rallies that are being addressed by President Tsvangirai and other senior party members including the House of Assembly and Senate candidates across the country.

Other presidential star rallies are scheduled for the weekend in Gwanda and Beitbridge in Matebeleland South on Sunday. The Gwanda rally takes place at 10am while the Beitbridge rally takes place at 2pm.
