MDC mock elections

As Zimbabweans will be voting in a crucial election that is set to peacefully remove an African dictator, Robert Mugabe, Zimbabweans in the UK who have been denied the vote will be having their own "election" at Coventry.

Western observers have been barred from the election and their journalists from covering it.We are inviting to come and witness with us the mock election organised by members of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), the main opposition party that is likely to sweep into power at the weekend, if there is no rigging. If there is rigging, you will be the first to know about the international protest that we are going to mount.

We are also going to be telephoning to Zimbabwe, to different polling stations to hear the results of the voting and get reactions from people from home, we might even be able to organise for you a live interview with someone on a mobile phone in Zimbabwe! You will also be able to witness the mock election, announcement of results and interview the chief representative (Ambassador) of the Movement for Democratic Change in the UK, Mr Hebson Makuvise (0208282862471 or 07949611776) or the chairman of the MDC in the UK Mr Jonathan Chawora (07825136202 or 07723929167). You can telephone them if you want to make sure that they are going to be at the venue when you arrive.
There will also be executive members and ordinary members of the MDC willing to talk about what the election means to us.

Voting for Presidential candidates will be conducted by a clergyman who had to escape out of Zimbabwe through our underground network (the resistance) when he had been targetted by Mugabe’s serrate service – for elimination. Rev. Chisvo.

Results of the election will be delivered to the Zimbabwe Embassy in London on another day, which you might want to also come along.
