Chiredzi erupts

At 11.00 pm I received the first results.

Chiredzi Gvt A Primary Sch. P/Station: – PRESIDENTIAL. MDC 99 / ZPF31 / SM25

                           PARLIMENTARY MDC83 / ZPF 28 / IND 38 / MUT 7

                           SENATORIAL MDC 89 / ZPF 44 / IND 23

 Chiredzi  Gvt B Primary Sch. P/S : – PRESIDENTIAL MDC 110 / ZPF 44 / SM 22

                     PARLIMENTARY MDC 79 / ZPF 44

                     SENATORIAL MDC 102 / ZPF 19 / IND 21

At 1.15am Chiredzi erupted with people in large groups dancing and singing in the streets, the local beer hall could be heard some 2km away. What a contrast to the 2005 elections where it was the ZPF in the streets chasing MDC youths trying to catch them to beat them up.

Damn it is good to hear happy people, god help Mugabe if he tries to steel this election.

Reports from Iain Kay MP candidate that driving round the high density suburbs in Marondera “it feels like a huge weight has been lifted off peoples shoulders – there is tangible relief and joy”. (7am Sunday).

Mutare urban looks pretty much like a clean sweep, as does Chipinge urban – from Mutare source.
