The real target
was her daughter who in fact is a journalist and had been visiting her
parents and had actually filed a couple of stories while she was here. One
of these stories was about a policeman who had told her he had voted by
postal ballot and had been forced to vote for Zanu PF. This story came to
the attention of the local mafia and in a effort to catch her they demanded
that Margret Kriel come in to the local Police Station. Once she did so she
was arrested and has still not been charged even though the law states she
must be charged within 48 hours.
She is being held in Sauerstown police cells and has not been able to bathe
for 4 days. Her initial interrogation was by a number of policemen without
her lawyers present and lasted several hours. She has not otherwise been
