New York - U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has urged Zimbabweans to remain and called for transparency in the painfully slow vote-count.

“The secretary-general has been closely following the situation in Zimbabwe where results are still emerging from last weekend’s elections,” according to U.N. spokesman Farhan Haq.

“As the counting and tabulation of those continues, he calls for continued calm and he urges the utmost transparency be exercised, so that the people of Zimbabwe can have full confidence in the process.”
