Torturers begin to fear their victims

Torturers begin to fear their victims:Panic spreads in security forces.
BULAWAYO

Panic and fear are said to be spreading through the police force and spy agency, the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO), as the MDC moves from opposition to parliament.

Zimbabwe security forces have been notorious for torturing and beating up members of the MDC during their years in opposition. Activits such as Talent Mabika, Tichaona Chiminya and Fainos Kuzvinei Zhou lost their lives at the hands of CIO agents.MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai and other senior members of his party were severely tortured by police last year when they attended a prayer meeting at Highfields Grounds in Harare last year.CIO and police agents who spoke to The Zimbabwean on Sunday this week said they were worried about their future in the new Tsvangirai government. They said they were scared that, under the new government, they might be jailed or sent to The Hague to face the wrath of law.
We really don’t know what our future is like in the new Tsvangirai government, said one CIO agent. Some of our colleagues are even thinking of skipping the country in fear of prosecution for torturing, killing and beating up MDC members under the Mugabe regime.
