Nyandoro on cloud nine

JOHANNESBURG - Zimbabwe midfield hardman Esrom Nyandoro is on cloud nine after his match-winning performance ensured Mamelodi Sundowns qualified for the Nedbank Cup final over the weekend.

The tough-tackling grafter scored what is without doubt the goal of the tournament as the dethroned league champions eased past Amazulu in the semifinal.

Nyandoro let loose a trademark blistering shot from more than 30 metres out past a vain-diving Kalilo Kakonje in goals for Usuthu.

“Obviously, I am excited at scoring the goal that sent us to the final where we stand a chance of ending the season on a high,” said the Bulawayo-born player.

Sundowns meet first division club Mpumalanga Black Aces in the final on May 31. Nyandoro predicts a tough match.

The former Zimbabwe Saints junior player and ex-Amazulu (Zimbabwe) star has been a revelation since joining The Brazilians.

He has won two league titles, a handful of trophies and several personal awards. – CAJ News
