Zanu PF rigged election run-off

HARARE -  Voting in the pending presidential election run-off in which Zanu PF rigged will be ward-based, the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission said.

The Movement for Democratic Change, claim that it had 51% of the voted, but Zanu PF rigged claiming that it had 47%, while it had 43%. in a move widely seen as trying to push for a run-off.
ZEC deputy chief elections officer (operations) Utloile Silaigwana said there would be no changes in the way the election would be conducted.
“The manner in which Zimbabweans voted in the harmonised elections will apply in the presidential run-off. The voting will be ward-based,” he said.
There has been widespread speculation that since the presidential election constituted a single constituency there might be no need for prospective voters to cast their ballots at ward level.
He said since the voters’ roll was ward-based, it naturally followed that the voting should be done at ward level to ensure accountability and transparency.
However, he said the commission was yet to come up with a date for the presidential poll run-off.
“The date of the election has not yet been set. The public will be advised in due course,”  Silaigwana said.
