ZCTU Leadership at Harare Police Station

Mr Wellington Chibebe, the secretary-general of the ZCTU, and Lovemore Matombo accompanied by his lawyers, are at the time of this writing at Harare Central Police for questioning. The police have been looking for Mr Chibebe and Mr Matombo since May 1, 2008 after they had addressed workers during Workers Day. It is suspected that they want to question them on their speeches that mainly centred on the polical impasse following the delay in the release of  Presidential elections.
Yesterday they went to the police station but the officer who was said to be responsible was did not pitch-up.  Heavily armed police visited their homes on Tuedsay looking  them.
