Arthur Mutambara bailed, to challenge constitutionality in Supreme Court

Arthur Mutambara was today released on bail (Z$ 20 billion, report every Friday at Law and Order, Harare Central, surrender title deeds) until 17 June when he appeared before Magistrate Guvamombe.

Meanwhile his lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa assisted by Harrison Nkomo gave notice that he will challenge the constitutionality of the two sections of the Criminal Codification Act under which he is being charged in the Supreme Court, as being not reasonably justifiable in a democratic society and in breach of section 20(1) of the Constitution, because they remove the right to freedom of expression and the right to hold divergent opinions.
