Zimbabwe Vigil – City Hall Belfast, Friday 27th June

City Hall Belfast, Friday 27th June

The Zimbabwe Solidarity Campaign will hold a vigil outside City Hall, Belfast on Friday the 27th of June from 1pm until 2pm.

The vigil follows the decision by the Zimbabwean opposition leader Morgan Tsvangirai to pull out of Friday’s Presidential run-off because of the violence and vote rigging by the Mugabe regime. At last world leaders are starting to speak out about the atrocities of the brutal Mugabe regime and the time for action is now.  We call for immediate international intervention with the deployment of a peace keeping force to stop the killings and elimination of opposition members and human rights activists. We also call on the world to forget using Mugabes poodle Mbeki to mediate, his behaviour to date has exacerbated the problems and it is time for him to be sidelined and for positive leadership from the UN, EU, AU and SADC countries. We want to thank the Northern Ireland Assembly for their support to date and trust they will keep the pressure upon Westminster.

Please contact as many supporters as possible by phone to advise them of the date and time. Anyone who has contacts in the press please also advise them.

We look forward to seeing you there!

Aluta continua !
