Two Mitsubishi double cabs registration numbers 617 -862N and 662 – 762 owned or used by Wing Commander Mulalazi and Colonel Chirima respectively have been reported to be involved. Sources said the occupants of the cars carried guns and Mulalazi had addressed a rally brandishing a new AK 47 rifle. He told the villagers to go and cast their vote behind the party chairman of their ward who would take down the serial number of the ballot paper to trace their vote.
“Those who vote for the MDC will be killed,” Mulauzi said.
The police have denied all reports of political violence and accused the MDC of fanning the violence in an attempt the discredit the polls. Official police spokesman Oliver Mandipaka said he was not aware of the reports of violence or that army vehicles were being used to perpetrate terror in rural Mzvezve or Eiffel Flats.
