Chombo has been dragging his feet. “The situation cannot be allowed to continue because it is both illegal and highly prejudicial to the applicant and Bulawayo rate payers. There is urgent need for this court to intervene and bring normalcy to the affairs of Bulawayo and its city council,” the opposition party said.
The matter is yet to be set down for hearing. The MDC, which won control of Harare, Mutare, Masvingo Chitungwiza, Kwekwe and Chinhoyi, said in its application that the failure by Chombo to swear into office the councillors for Bulawayo had ground municipal business to a halt. – ZimOnline
