The programme starts at 11.30 am at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster Abbey. The Archbishop of York, the Most. Rev. John Sentamu, will hold a service starting at noon. The rally and walk to the Home Office, Parliament Square and South Bank follows at 1.30 pm.
“This is our show as Zimbabweans. Let us send a strong message,” said Jaison Matewu, MDC Organising Secretary, UK and Ireland. “We need every Zimbabwean for this action to be effective. Be there; bring the Zimbabwean flag; smart dressing is encouraged!”
The rally is part of a campaign titled “Strangers into Citizens” calling for a “pathway to citizenship for hundreds of thousands of undocumented immigrants who have been resident in the UK for many years. Â
