He was attacked after he had visited his mother, who had been beaten up before the June 27 run-off. Kingswell was admitted to Kotwa Hospital under 24-hour guard by war vets and militia. He was told that the reason he and his mother were beaten was because they “are sellouts and MDC supporters”. His condition deteriorated and he died 48 hours after being moved to a specialist treatment centre in Harare. Â
The following MDC activists have also been beaten by Zanu thugs in the area recently:
   * Loveness Mapisa (33) of Masenda Village, Chief Nyamukoko was beaten and seriously injuried at Rukenda ZPF base. She is in Kotwa Hospital under 24 hour ZPF guard and is in a serious condition.
   * William Chipangura (41) of Tsungu Village, Chief Chimukoko was beaten by ZPF members at Chimukoko Base and is in Kotwa Hospital under 24 hour ZPF guard.
   * Yeukai Tungamira (26) of Mteta village under Chief Chimukoko was beaten at Nyamutawa ZPF base for being an MDC supporter. Admitted to Kotwa Hospital in a serious condition.
   * Powerman Pengapenga (36) of Mteta Village under Chief Nyamukoko beaten at Nyamutawa Base by Ass. Comm. Kubvubvuti and members of military junta. Admitted to Kotwa Hospital in serious condition.
   * Jackson Mazarura abducted by ZPF youth and war vets, he is still missing. Locals fear he might have been killed and secretly buried. 7 other MDC also abducted.
   * Mudzi ZPF Bases in the following areas are currently operational and are being led by Ass. Comm. Kubvubvuti – Chimukoko , Rukonde, Nyamatawa and Makaha bases.
   * Marondera East, two families were evicted at ward 17 and 18 and they are living on the roadside with their belongings and children.
   * Marondera East, Igava Farm, the ZPF base being manned by ZPF youth and war vets is currently operational.
   * Marondera West, Peter Zinyama was beaten on 20th July, 2008 for distributing MDC fliers and is seriously injured.
   * Chikomba, Chivu – Shumba ward, the MDC councilor elect Mrs. L. Mutizwa was chased away from her home and her granary was burned by a group of war vets. They followed her to Marondera where she had gone to seek refuge.
   * UMP – Sharon Bhunu was beaten on the July 19 for distributing MDC fliers. She was taken to Mutawatawa Hospital where she was treated and discharged. A report was made at Mutawatawa Police Station but no action was taken.
   * Muhrewa South – Barrymore Primary School, Headmaster, Mr. Gwara was chased away from the school and some of his property was looted.
   * Muhrewa South – Washington Chizhiza of Barrymore Veterinary Office, was also chased away on the 20th July, 2008 for distributing Pres. MT’s message. His radio, camera, veterinary equipment and cattle vaccines were taken by the ZPF.
   * Muhrewa West – A nurse and orderly have been prevented from carrying out their duties at Kadenge Clinic and were forced to close the Clinic down by Â
     ZPF youth who are being led by Nadzo and war vets.
